The benefits of using an NICEIC approved contractor

Paul Mayer Electrical are NICEIC approved contractors, domestic installers, and PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) electricians. This means our work is assessed to the highest standards covering all types of electrical work including, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of commercial, industrial and domestic electrical installations.
Safety and competence
We are assessed by the NICEIC on a regular basis to ensure we are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and rules of the NICEIC Schemes they we are registered to.
Compliance with building regulations
As NICEIC registered contractors we are authorised to self-certify our work to the Local Building Control Body. This saves you both time and money when undertaking work that requires notification under the Building Regulations.
The NICEIC Platinum Promise
As an NICEIC contractor we provide a quality service to our customers. We stand behind the quality of our service and believe that as a consumer you should have peace of mind.
As part of our NICEIC membership the NICEIC Platinum Promise provides assurance to our customers whereby if any work is not been carried out in compliance with Building Regulations it will be rectified.
The Platinum Promise lasts for six years from the date of work completion and covers up to a limit of £25,000 for any one installation.
NICEIC Assessments
We undergo regular assessments by the NICEIC to ensure our procedures and work continues to be of the highest standards. These assessments cover:
- An onsite inspection of our work by an NICEIC Area Engineer
- Inspection of our office procedures and paperwork – ensuring relevant policies, procedures and insurances are documented
- Inspection of our installation records – including installation certificates raised against completed work including building regulations notifications (where applicable)
- Checking the technical qualifications of the nominated Qualified PME Supervisor
- Checking that our technical reference documents are up to date
- Checking of test instruments and leads to ensure they have up to date service records and accuracy logs
